I recently reinstalled XP MCE and now it takes forever and a day to burn a disc. I'm trying to burn DL discs at 6x, my dvd burner says it will do 8x and so do the cd's but 6x only shows up. The real problem though is when I go to Copy dvd it starts on the "creating the image for burning" process and this is what now takes FOREVER.. it used to get straight into the first layer burn and then onto the second, taking about 30 mins a full 8gig disc. Now its more like 2 hours or more because of this image thing... I know I should post some kind of Nero Log but I don't know where to find that. Can someone please help me? lol
So I checked the Core folder and I do not see any nerohistory file. Infact the only text file in there was nero.txt which just contained a bunch of error messages.... .....?....
Nonexistant!!! i even searched for every .txt anf .log and found nothing about nero history or nero log.... wtf!
Its running DMA MODE 2, reinstalled all IDE and channel drivers, updated drive f/w, reinstalled its driver.. no results. i thnk it has something to do with the program itself. and still no log anywhere.. maybe because im running trial version?? wtf!!

If I save the files to the image recorder, a 7.5GB file takes ten minutes and the it writes at 20 to 30 KB/s. I guess the speed would depend on the condition of the hard drive.
