Sound distorted when playing DVD on PC

Hi

Just wondering if anyone can help me. I have been trying to watch a dvd using my pc, all the programs I have tried gives me the same problem, the sound is very distorted!

I have updated all of my drivers, video and sound and this still has not fixed the problem. I can play music fine without a hitch.

I have not watched a dvd on the pc for sometime and recently I have upgraded to Windiws media player 11, from WMP9, could this be the problem???

 

Are they pressed DVD's or copies?

I'm not a huge WMP fan. Try VLC Player.

It happens with any dvd, pressed and copied. I already have VLC its my defult dvd player.
