I have a Mitsubishi DLP wd-6538. There is one digital audio out connection. What would be the best external speaker system. Nothing too fancy, just something better than the speakers in the TV.
    Thanks

The optical output on tvs is for getting 5.1 surround sound from your local HD channels, using the internal tuner, while connected to an antenna. It's not for anything else. It connects to a surround sound A/V receiver, with 6 or more speakers connected to it. It's not to connect to just speakers. It might connect to a soundbar, but, for the cost of those, you may as well go with full surround sound.

Look at Onkyo's HTIB (home theater in a box) systems. They are the best bang for the buck. I think you can get one for less than $400 at Amazon.com.
    Good luck!
