Please send a fresh HJT log so I can be sure too. There might be some problems still. Let me take a look. And post also the contest of C:\smitfiles.txt

It is really important because if we don´t remove it right it will come back soon.

Are you sure you made the scan in safe mode? And btw I don´t think that log is complete. Open that file again > press ctrl+a > press ctrl+c > post a reply here, and paste it there with ctrl+v.

Okay then.. Looks a little different than the others I´ve seen. Hope it stays away now. The smitfiles.txt looks OK to me as far I understand.... And happy new year to you too.

I got this same crap after my 18 year old daughter came to me with "somethings wrong with the computer mom, can you fix it?" After an hour of trying to clean the computer, i did a system restore to 3 days back, got rid of it, do you think it is still there? I have not had anymore problems and it has been 4 days since the system restore. Anyone know how to delete system restore information files?

Thanks, I will give it a try when I get home tonight. I asked this because when I did microtrend virus scan, i get all these C:\systeminformationrestore*.* that have investions in them but the virus scan cannot delete the infected files for these system restore files. I have tried searching for them under that type of name in file, but nothing comes up, so they have to be system hidden files. My computer runs fine though ever since the clean, but just can't get rid of these underfiles. Thanks again.
