@aabbccdd I wonder what's with the Charlotte_Disc1 label???? STRANGE! I put my StarWars II Attack of the Clones through AnyDvd: Summary for drive D: (AnyDVD 5.5.1.1) Drive (Hardware) Region: 1 Media is a Data DVD. Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite) Video DVD (or CD) label: ATTACK_OF_THE_CLONES_D1 Media is CSS protected! Video Standard: NTSC Media is locked to region(s): 1! Found & removed RCE protection! DVD structure appears to be correct. Structural copy protection not found. Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD! Bad sector protection not found. Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!
I made two back-ups...one was DL using Decrypter Iso Read and then Iso Write at 2.4x. Looks perfect and then I used Recode 2 and removed the credits which brought and then used Rebuidler Pro/CCE Basic and it took 130 minutes and out came an amazing copy that I had a hard time seeing any difference between the DL and the single layer. I know what some think and that is how can a compressed movie look as good as the original...I still feel that source material is key. The better the source the better the potential for a great copy. i'm doing SW3 via DVD Shrink at the moment, my percentage is 66% which i hope will be sufficient as it's only a backup
I was able to burn it but for some reason the first 3 chapters will not play and the little video camera icon blinks on by dvd player...any info on what causes this please let me know...
Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wonder what's with the Charlotte_Disc1 label???? STRANGE! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My guess: This was done at some stage (probably in the mastering process) to try to deter employees from "theft" of the work, as it was hoped they would not bother to steal some work they had never heard of ("Charlotte.") If someone comes across a huge collection of files that is in a folder on a PC that says "Charlotte," they are likely to just move on. It is even possible that the original plan was to rename the compilation prior to the final master being sent for pressing, and somebody fogot to do this... Just a guess, but the only one that makes sense to me. Those in charge are certainly skittish about piracy, and theft of their content, and they probably have passed these emotions right along to those key people and major companies involved at every step along the chain. Don't forget this is the same Lucas who routinely uses fake names for the duration of an entire film shoot, and would insist his own mother sign iron-clad punitive contracts of non-disclosure. So, I suspect it sat on someone's hard drive somewhere hidden with a file folder named "Charlotte." -Bruce
I am lazy. I like to use one program. I enable anydvd and then run shrink to rip and to burn. I used the super can sub folder whatever features, thinking I might salvage some quality. Doesn't matter. I too have problems with the menus pausing for split seconds and having pixelation in the first couple chapters intermit. Is it the anydvd? Is it the shrink? Should I scan with Fab or older Decryp and THEN have shrinkie do it? With or without AnyDVD? I need to know, because This is NOT the first DVD that has done this. Believe me. System resources ARE NOT A PROBLEM and all process trackings like Norton are turned off during the burning process. Another side note. Almost a full layer of this freakin DVD is Animated Menus and Extra crap. This DVD doesn't look that great even upconverted from the original DVD. Just to let you know. Thanks
@fishbulb - i didn't use any enhancements (have only ever had to do that on i think 2 films before - one was Sahara, don't remember the other movie); was just interested in what the quality would be like 'as was' - watched a bit of the resulting backup - i was actually very pleased myself..
mackdl really iam not sure whats up with that and gwendolin the wallpaper came from this site check it out http://www.desktopgirls.com/
Hi, has anyone used 1 Click DVD Copy 4.2 to burn? I have been using it and find it works great. Any comments!
I copied Star Wars III using Anydvd and CloneDVD. The results were good until the end of the movie when the pixilation and skipping stared. This only occurred in the last 15 minutes of the film, the rest of the movie was just fine. I was using and older version of AnyDVD at the time (5411), since I had the disc 2 weeks prior to sreet date, and was wondering if that was the problem, or if it was a compression problem. I made another copy using DVD X Platinum and AnyDVD and had no problems. Since I made the copy, I have upgraded to AnyDVD 5511, but have not tried to use it on Star Wars yet.
@guyver3 - you don't need anything like AnyDVD running for any Star Wars films. did all of mine last night with just DVD Shrink on it's lonesome. However i very much doubt AnyDVD had anything to do with the skipping. what burn speed did you use and what media did you use. in fact, to give media info, try dvd identifier (free) - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_identifier.cfm - use it to 'identify' that disc aand paste results here so we can see what disc manufacturer you got there. after that it would be worth running a CRC check on the disc, for that you could try VSO Inspector - http://www.vso-software.fr
i had no problem doing that movie with clonedvd2 2851 and anydvd 5411.. try it this way to stop pixilation, use clonedvd2, rip it to your hard drive use nero to burn at 4x or slower. cheers
