Starting right from the beginning

    Ok folks here I am...absolutely no idea where to start....looking for someone with a lot of patience to guide me through the job of putting a VHS tape onto my pc and then onto a DVD. I dont expect to do pro stuff here i just want to download a VHS tape and put it onto a DVD with maybe a beginning title . and be able to take out an advert or two or maybe a 5 minute movie of the grass under my feet at a wedding. Here are a few details......shout if you need more.
    Computer running Windows XP version 5.1 service pack 1
    CDwriter
    DVD writer
    And heres my first question.......What do I require to do this job ? Its probably best to get any progs installed before we go any further. By the way i am first in line for the poor house so dont expect me to just buy everything I need, I might need to download freebies etc

    As a follow up, I have been reading some posts about this and I downloaded DVD Shrink. I tried to copy a home movie dvd and when I played it back through WMP the soundtrack was distorted. Any ideas ? (please)

    If you want to put VHS onto a DVD you will need to have a TV Tunner capture card so that you can capture the VHS onto the computer.

    Then after capturing it you can use Nero Vision Express and make the DVD with chapters and a menu. It is actully simple to do.
