Starview 2 "thebox" Help?

    got the box and downloaded thebox_Ireland_H20070705_450eE_api all the download seems to work o.k. but all scans failed. Am I missing something?? On the main menu I cannot select the parental control & channel edit. How do I get into secret menu any help would be welcome

    Should do, press menu, type 1570 on RC and you should get in.

    thx just downloading file on 2 2nd box will try it once that's done. Is this what they call flashing the box??

    Yep you are flashing the eeprom on the box.

    no joy getting into menu. any ideas. N*L signal ok

    Press menu and system info to verify that 4.50 has successfully flashed to the box.

    Thats why its not working as 4,50 has not flashed over it.

    Yep lol :) Same as a DM500c basically, nice little linux box, but never believe in first impressions until I have put it through the mill :)

    So forgive me for doing one of my "hes here hes gone" nights lol as I am tinkering :)

    Sc0ucer: got the API ver : 4,50e_E downloaded but still not getting to the hidden menu any suggestions!! have read a lot of the threads and I seem to be missing a step at the start. In Maynooth Co Kildare Ireland.

    Press menu and system info bet it still says 4.54, BTW more bad news you say you are in Maynooth it may not work there either way. As most of the area is still only analogue and other areas are fed by a communal MMDS feed from Ch**us, sorry.

    No it does say 4.50 but it may be the old type feed. I did ask N*l to instal their digital service but they said it was not available in this area. Thanks for all your help anyway. Hope you get rewarded in some way for the help ur giving people. Think I'll have to flog the box and go back to paying S&y way over the odds.
