Starview 2 Wont go into standby.

On the front of all starviews it will tell you what the box is if it is TheBox it will say this on the left hand side of the unit the same with the super box it will also say the same thing

As people have found out to their costs you can change the name of any firmware to make it look like what you want to so that is how people where caught before by someone claiming that the clone safe was out when it was not and someone changed the name of the V4.00 to V2.57 so people thought they where putting clone safe on and a little while later their boxes died

And yes always buy from a reputable dealer you might pay a few quid more but is it not better to have a warranty in case something goes tits up

check this page out for a guide to telling which box you have and also the required firmware for each.you will also need a winrar programme to open the gtrom.you can get this free on the internet just google winrar and you'll find one.

 

Is it the starview 1 2theBox or 3 TheSuper all firmware is different and not compatible with each other

Also you need to know if your box is clone or genuine if it is the starview 1

 

when you go to http://www.4shared.com/dir/3042613/f6e3421c/sharing.html go to starview then click on clone or not and there is a check list to see which box you have...also super 3 has the box super on ther front and starview 2 has 25 vents on the top and starview original 1 has 13 vents i think....18 vents is a clone.check out the check list there are photos as well.
there is also a winrar programme there too.

backwards. clones have less and are smaller.

13x7 = first generation
18x7 = clone
27x7 = genuine

original are bigger because they come direct from manuf

clone is smaller because it is a rip off version of the genuine and is made smaller to save money cheaper components and comes from china

i was told 27 and know the box starview 2 has 25
