Starview 3 The Box Super - Flash Update fail...

Hi all have just downloaded the box update but now when i power up the box it just displays "on" & wont load up !! can any one help ??

It may be nothing but ive just noticed that the update for "the box super" is 8.02 & the new update for "the box" is also 8.02 ??? Think sum 1 is playin silly beggers mmm ?? can any 1 confirm this is why the box is locking up ?? thanx....

 

I see the box update has vanished then !! must be the wrong 1 then.. i just hope it hasnt "fried" my two boxs i put it on !!!

can i transfer software box to box from a downloaded one or do i need pc download

also in the meantime i cannot access the toolbar for todays *****

Curious that...I thought 18x7 vents were cloned SV3's not 20x7....could be wrong though as I don't deal with them myself, it's just what I thought I read somewhere. Wasn't there an 'original original' first batch of genuine SV3's that differed slightly too? I remember some people thinking they had clones when they had the first batch of SV3 that looked slightly different.

Also, to those saying there's no fix for SV2's yet...well there IS. It is dated today's date (03/12/08). I don't know what time today it first appeared, and/or when you folks posted, but there is now a fix for SV2 The Box. It comes as a pack as you have to update to certain firmware before applying the fix (if you don't have said firmware on it already). View the Read Me that comes with it first. Yes it was posted earlier but needed a few tweaks, so was taken down and put back up.

 

Seems to be gone again. :/

 

It's not gone it is in The Box folder then firmware and there it is TOP folder it's in there.

 

Actually I PM'd him and he said I've read him wrong, he says:

"No you havent read correctly if gets stuck after you have updated firmware and it the moves onto auto updating key codes sometime this process stick and need to be flicked off then on" [sic]

So you clearly don't flick the switch on/off at any time the ROM loader is in operation.

 

Yeah it's back again....but I'm sure it disappeared for a small while, again, earlier.

Thanks to the author...I've a couple of the SV2's in the extended family whose owners will be over-the-moon (and I can get some peace and quiet not answering the phone every time V roll the numbers)

 

I downloaded the earlier fix’s and lost the lot, box showing only four dashes
I have now loaded V4.51, which you needed to flash to have V4.54 installed then I then flash the logo file with the background data file ticked,

I finished with the new 802 file, after all that all I get is the ON.
Any idea’s chaps

Put the 4.51 back on and make sure that it has flashed and the firmware is back on, then do the following

First flash thebox_454eE_api.bin to your box with the new GTRom.4.3
(select as App file only)

Then flash thebox_logobg.bin to your box using the new GTRom.4.3
(select Background Data File)

Then flash with the 802 BIN FILE using the same loader.


If by any chance you cannot get the 4.51 firmware flashed back on, then go to the link marked Starview 2nd line at the bottom of my post and follow the Bad Flash Guide, it may take a few attempts but it will eventually kick in.

Tell you what lads i take my hat off to you all! still people that have not got a jar of glue posting anything without reading the posts left before! it would wind me up to f*ck. Hope the other boxes get fixes soon! hope its on by the weekend cause i want to watch the match ! haha keep a cool head in your keks lads : )

 

Download Winrar from Eamo's FTA Library and install it, you will need that to unzip/extract.
