Star view USB delivered last friday, I loaded software on Saturday, and S*y Movies & Sports vanished on Monday. Sad or what? Should I keep or bin ? along with my Eurovox ? With NTHell in Dublin.
can anyone say for defo that it is n3 and if so are we doomed that there is no way to crack it.and dont come back with never say never!
That i dont know mate, i would love to be able to say, but as it has never been cracked, god only knows but it does give a better chance now, as more programmers will be working on it, to see who will get it first i would say.
Please can someone help me. I have an older system The Box-- normal scart/3 colour ports in the back---similar sizt to Starview 4 but no USB. It works fine. Some one gave it to me last Jan from Work and now he's left.. I wanted to know the firmware version and where i would need to get the latest f/w if all goes wrong in the future..just to be safe.. This machine obviously needs to f/w to be put on via 9pin serial p-ort of laptop... I have never done it before...please send me forum/link for future ref. The Tech info on the menu shows:- The Box APL V 4.55 e_E Boot Ver:7 4/12/08 Does this mean f/w v.7 is installed? Thanks George

My Uncle is an engineer and works on the road for U*C Ireland, I was giving him stick the other day about how it was just a matter of time before we cracked N3 and all the usual banter about them being rip offs etc. Obviously he doesn't care either way as they will always be people willing to pay for a subscription, but we did get talking about it and he told me that there was talk of N3 being hacked / cracked / decrypted in America already! Supposedly this was one of the reasons N*L / U*C held off for so long as they weren't prepared to pay so much for something that had just been cracked. Anyone else hear anything about this? Anyway, it scared the American TV Networks when some of their own engineers claimed the N3 software is not only crackable but showed them how it could be done. Now the Americans (not prepared to chance it) have given up on N3 and pumped money into some new software, cant remember the name of it but its all ready rolled out for some stations. So N*T have just took a huge gamble that might not pay off in the long run. let's be clear N3 is 100% here in Ireland, U*C have most defiantly switched over but the talk in their offices is that is has been cracked and its just a matter of time before those engineers perfect and sell it on. Someone out there is about to become a very wealthy man!
The V 1.11 or 1.12 will fix that I think. I had that problem got them back and lsot the ,movies etc 2 weeks later
any idea when or if rest of channels goin to N3, I got starview 4 usb waste of money now ,but il hold onto it incase a time comes maybe it can be of use.
[/quote]i heard that the japs have cracked nag.3 and are now working for a crack for that nag.4 that is coming out also the swis company that done the nag.3 encryption guaranteed 2 years before a crack and if it is cracked/broke within that time frame n*l get there money back & a 6 figure payment sum, so look who gets wealthy if its cracked also when it is cracked whoever does it wont see much of the money unless he sells it to the box distributors/manufactors cos once it hits trhe net everybody has it then and its the little people that will make the money by turning boxes back on for a price.
