Seriously though, what’s the advantage of having all those channels? There’s usually nothing on and if there is you have to sit through Ads for most of it and they repeat programmes way to much, inevitably with all those channels you end up watching nothing, instead you just surf for a couple of hours looking for something to watch..Whats the point? Set up utorrent to download all your favourite shows and latest movies and watch sports on p2p, this way you are never disappointed there’s no Ads and you pay for nothing, I’m really missing the point of these boxes probably because there is no real point anymore.

Please be aware that upc are now sniffing on their bb service and are throttling some services to combat the c/s servers this will happen more and more so if you have upc BB and you are using the Sv6 box via lan change your BB provider or you will have problems

Someone just put it out there, does the starview 6 work? either it does or it doesnt.. if it does in what situations and where and if it does any ideas on how long it'll last and for people in the right areas in the right siuation how do they go about gettin it up and running

if theres people in the know keeping it a secret to themselfs whats the point in this site and being a member of it to begin with.. if you dont want to lend a hand to others who dont know then close you account and piss off

Guitar, I would suggest you do as Mooley said. I don't have an SV6 but as far as I can see the members have covered every angle and have been extremely helpful to all. So rather than accusing do make a bit of effort before posting such a response. There are far too many users who want all the answers with no effort whatsoever. Members are always willing to help those who have shown some effort but not to those who consider this forum as being their godgiven right to get all the answers with no effort an their own behalf

    Hi Lads (and Ladies),
Been outta the loop for a while. I think I replied to this thread way back in it's infancy. Anyway, whats the story with these Starview 6? Do you still need to go through the whole c/s thing to get channels or is there some new thing out?
    Thanks.

    Ok.
So I my perception was fairly much on target, except for the fact that there seems to be some Starview C/S.
Also, can anyone shed some light on the whole one year thing. Is it that you get a one year access to the Starview server as I would think it is impossible to put some sort of timer on the box from the first power on.
If I guess is correct, then after one year could you not just subscribe to a different server?
    Please bear with me. Thanks.

when you buy the box you are connected from that day for 12 months then you bin that box and reinvest in a new one the price includes sub for one year

this can be only true if th IP of the share is hardcoded on the box. if you can change the IP then there is no reason to bin as you can change your share at will

Do you think Starview have over looked this ??? dont think so you will not be able to use that box on any other C/S now where would they money be in that for them.

That is the whole idea behind this box get 1 year and buy another thats how there revenue is generated.

And yes it might not be around for a year who knows what the future holds can you give me next weeks or even next years lottery numbers ???

fintannl anyway in all fairness if i was to get a year out of this for that price i would be more than happy to bin it if a new replacement would do the same again, remember a sly sub for same chans will cost approx 900/1000 euros

If it is anything like C/S on a dream, I would imagine that all they would have to do is change the settings required for a config file and given that you cannot access this, you would not be able to change it to the new settings and would therefore need a new box !!!!!!
