thanks reswob i will try the box in a friends house. it was working then lost few channels (server issue) then last fri lost basically all channels. getting all the sub channels when cable to tv. i can scroll through all the channels but just says scramble. when i flick the channel at the bottom on the info bar it says NOT CONNECTED. does it say this on other peoples boxes? didnt touch the box with USB or anything until the channels dissappeared and then tried the other files. tried everything by the book. had the channels and nothing was chnged then just went off fri afternoon. thought (hoped) it was the server issue but channels havent come back at all...i will try a friends house and let yee know how i get on. cheers
how is box connected to internet,is it direct to a modem or via a router? if its through a router try thru modem could be problem with router.
wlash,i presume you checked your IP settings?you will find them in your network settings in menu.put it to auto and then press select.these are a series of boxes{ip address,gateway,mask,dns,2nd dns}these should be filled in.[im going by memory here]

well me and wlash seem to have broken/unhappy boxes...working as should all good..just wont connected anymore... as if the box is black listed from severs or somthing...is there a way to find the m a c a d d r e s s for the box...reset it somehow...or somthing...dont really want to have a bookend already...
you wont be able to anything to the mac address on the box as that is hard coded to the box. What i suggest is you do disconnect all the cables from your box and modem or router factory reset the box fully then do a new flash from the new file on my signiture then start at the beginning again and se what happens
e45 i have just tried what you said in your last post because i am having the problem as happyout but its still the same the box is still saying not connected,any other ideas because im at a loss now,i have tried everything mentioned in the last 2 pages of posts
you can start again this time try the option below and see will that work for you if you are using a router disconnect it and go direct from modem and see does that work if it does its your router that is the problem menu/accessory/network in here you will find a new section called cs Net.( this option will not appear until after you have scanned the box) ustream for the uk,(istream for eire) then go downto register/ok, registers the cs and away you go for 1 year.
menu accessory network...does not exist..on my box anyway menu utility network...yes... but no register and yes downloaded from your link..to fresh format usb...and yes default b4 scan thanks for helpin
Menu - Option -networks - net application - select type “Ustream(UK) or Istream(Irealnd) - ok From the main menu go to Utility and then press the right arrow button and select usb from the right hand side, you will see the carling / guinness file press ok on it and make sure to select SW+ALL DATA UPDATE.. once the scan has finished go to menu then highlight accessory and on the remote press the numbers "8989" you will then see "K*yedit" appear on the right hand side, go to it and press ok and just check that auto update is on if its off just turn it on. Then go to to your channels by exiting the menu and pressing ok.. Select a non FTA channel and leave it until a picture appears PLEASE NOTE IT CAN TAKE UPTO 5 MINUTES TO UPDATE SO BE PATIENT ok m8 hope ya get it sorted
i cant try the modem directly because i havent got an adapter for a phone line connection to a lan port connection, but i dont think it is the router!but i will go buy an adapter tommorrow just to make sure,i was aslo wondering about the other option you gave me there in your last post but what do you mean by scanned box and how do i do that?i'm sorry if it is a stupid question.
disregard that last bit of the message i know what you mean but my box hasn't got these options either network appears in options but it has no register either!thanks for the help too.
