Starview 6 working!!

    Apologies for exhausting this - so I assume then that the firmware needed to flash the box is not freely available & it is this firmware that expires after 12 months???
    Correct?

    Would a mobile bb dongle be able to keep a SV6 updated?

    yes that will work if they have them in stock but as that guy is looking to use a mobile bb stick like meteor or 02 mobile that will not work

    the one above that you have put up you need a wirless modem for that to work

    Got cut off when I was posting this, I think this is the only DONGLE that would work with a starview 6!! but you would need to have a wireless router to connect to in the house!!

    not true, ive got mine working away on a 3g dongle running off an old laptop, i just opened network sharing and ran an ethernet direct to the box... happy days.

    answer is still no !!! he is using an ethernet cable so was i right ?? not dongle to box which was the question to hand !!

    Well no, the question was would a MOBILE BB DONGLE be able to keep a SV6 updated ? and the answer is yes, if you connect it to something else ( eg a laptop and an ethernet cable).

    Very clever ok. What I was thinking was using down the road using one of those and keeping the SV6 updated by it.

    No IP evidence on my domestic bb provider (Khorus).
