Sure they where getting an income when the dodgy boxes where out in the first place as people still had to pay for a min sub that is not the point they are only paying a fraction of what they should be paying that is the point UPC are looking at that is why the new encryption was purchased. So server or no server you are still depriving the provider of revenue. And as the forums are been monitoring as we all know so what is the point in doing their work for them let them work it out for themselves thats what they get paid for
Hi all, does anyone in the Waterford area (N*L) have the new Staview 6 and if so is it working? does it work like the old boxes? any advice would be great,
Yes working fine, just hook up box to router, connect U*C cable as normal. Flash box with correct firmware, & follow instructions came with firmware. Choose AUTO_CONNECT option in menu to connect box to server. Screen will display CONNECTED under ch. name when server connection is successful If screen shows NOT connected try OFF/ON with power to router. Am in your area, PM me if you have problem.

Can anyone help me!!? I've got a Starview box and all of my channels are lost. Do I need to put new keys in? I live in Leicestershire (England). Thank you.
End of the road for your box im afraid your changed over to new encryption N3 so you will either have to pay virgin or sky for a sub. Bye Bye dodgy boxes
No leicester was transfered over to Nagra3 yesterday so there is no more free Tv you will have to subscribe to either virgin or sky. There is no fix for this Ireland have been without free Tv since August 2009 with no fix either
Some people only have Tv to look forward to so it can be a big ordeal for them when its gone we should be aware of this and not just look it as just tv it might be for us but others not housebound people etc
e45 i beg to differ anyone that has the knowledge to use this site or any other sites like this is well in the know, its just some people(not all)just want to be spoon fed all the time and just cant be bothered to do any research like you and many others on here iam more than happy to help whenever i can
that is nothing to do with that post what i was saying is some people rely on tv for many reasons thats all nothing to do with spoon feeding as that is one of my pet hates actually
Eamo, ok maybe chokus is still free in ireland, not for much longer. uk is also getting closed down. in both cases its was all thanks to systems that did not require a card inserted in the tv receiver. what we can look forward to is a system where a valid subscription is a requisite. then its a bit of knowledge on how to share it. so the day of the chipped boxes is over. The sv6 solution is unique and i find it unlikely that it will last long. to be honest i dragged the sv6 answer out of mickah some time back and now i am sorry i did. as mickah said at the time it was personal message stuff but i pushed him on it. in reflection i was wrong about that, while it may have helped a lot of users, it raised awareness of something that didn't need the limelight. linux continues to live due to a huge development community. By all indications satellite providers will have their hands full to come up with a security measures that will finally break the back of this game
