StarView Box 3 - No channels found

    also bluetate if you cant unzip the file you might have to download winrar it unzips zipped files just click on ... winrar to download it

    can anyone help when am downloading as when i get onto the little box with com setting and stb settings and when i press download,a message pops up saying (cant open serial port and system cant find file specifified.

    have you made sure that the ports are the same?
    select control panel, select systems, select hardware,select device manager, select ports and then make sure both com ports match and if they dont then change them...you might have to try all 4.

    @ bluetate .. what cable are you using haven`t really read over your other posts is it a null modem cable db9f to db9f on its own or are you using the usb to rs232 adaptor if your using the adaptor make sure its installed onto your computer with the mini disc that comes with it so the com port reckonises it

    when i go into device manager,nothing comes up with ports on it

    am using a converter for a usb to rs232 serial interface

    when you installed your usb adaptor it should have been assigned a com port...are you sure you installed it?do you have the cable and adaptor plugged in when you are checking for ports?

    i have plugged cable in and now found port it reads (com 4)what am i suppose to match it wit and how do i match it thanks

    @ bluetate .. so you installed the adaptor with the little disc and went into device manager and it says its assigned to com 4 is that right

    ok thats great...now go back to the download box and change the com port to com 4 to match the adaptor.and click download...if it doesn't work then systematically check each com port 1 to 4.so when you change the com port in the box you have to match that change in the device manager...you're doing great!

    ave been back to down load box changed the com port 4 to match and set box up to pc and downloaded then put box to tv and went through istallation setup on tv and the result was negative still no channels i know it must be something simple that iam not doing!

    so when you downloaded to the starview box did the % go up to 100?then did you wait for another box to pop up to say it was complete before disconnecting the box from the pc?

    yes it went to 100% and then a little box popped up and said complete.

    nearly there now bluetate at long last but as vicatron says hope you didnt unplug it before the window popped up to say download is complete cos you`ll have to do it again but your on the right track thats the main thing

    ok so the hard bit is done!!now after you did the autoscan what does the screen say?

    after auto scan it says 302 programs found
