StarView Box 3 - No channels found

    hey folks i have a question...when bluetate did his box he got 302 channels...how come i only get 176??

    No need vicky, there is a lot of them channels just BBC test channels that's all, done a good job though - it is a pain trying to get across the importance and procedure of installing the USB adaptor - connection and selecting/assigning the correct COM port, very patient and a job well done, I'm happy - bluetate's happy, and we are all happy, :)

    Hi just bought a Starview 3 box and understand I need to download an update from websie but the cable they have sent does not fit my pc i hear an adapter is available but i don't understand why this needs to be done the other SV3s i've had needed no downloads
    could this be a clone?

    all boxes are now sold as FTA and as such have no firmware installed so you need to put it on yourself

    this is what you need for your pc to connect to that cable

    thanks for that but i don't have a port like that on pc only thing near is monitor connection which dosn't fit anyway
    the ones i bought a month ago did not require this

    yes he can do box to box transfer if he wants your pc will have a usb port that is what that adapter goes into the other end you put the cable into and the other end of that goes on the box


    Also you will not be able to buy boxes from any supplier with software installed as it is against the law and they are been prosecuted in the uk at present

    didn't look at other end of cable any idea what model no of cable is i'm sure i'd get one at maplins but there robbers lol

    go to user set up in the main menu then onto the last option s/w transfer have your main box with the latest software on connected to the tv and connect the box without the software to the main box with the null modem cable then press ok on code sw

    you will get them on flebay cheaper just do a google search for rs232 cables and you will come across the adapter then
