Should the GMT be set to +1 ?
Have tried it your way but the EPG is an hour behind and on +1 it is ok, well holding for the moment.

If you are sure then I would chance doing the update again. I believe that it can take a couple of attempts to get it running.

Try it once more and then let us know if it is any better.

(mind the caps, the moderators will tell you off for it...looks like you are shouting...)

Hi folks, got a quick question for ye. I got a Starview 3 Box but it ain't working as i cannot access the CAS menu no matter what i try. I've been told i need to download firmware to it and have seen the links in this thread. My problem is that i got a cable with it that will connect to the box but it won't connect to my laptop. Checked in Maplin and they have a "USB to Serial 9-Pin Male Adaptor". Will this work or what type of cable do i need?

I think that should be to a female, is the back of the box male or female, I have an SV box so not too sure on your one. Just check and the rest should be fine. Hopefully someone can verify this for you though

Thanks guys, no idea whether box is male of female, how would you tell? It likes football & darts & hates Desperate Housewives, does that make it male ;)

No worries. The null cable (female to female jacks) is for PC to PC not lap tops since the lap top uses usb usually.
With the SV its female to female.
    Not sure with the SV3.
Just check the back of it.

    LOL.

Male has the pins sticking out of the jack at the end, hence male and female has the hole receptors in the jack hence female. Almost like a biology lesson.
