is that it then got to update or any other sites. r they easy to update with null cable

SOFTWARE UPDATE

NEW Update for the Starview Box

Follow the Below instructions.

Instructions

1) Plug in the RS232 cable into the serial port on the pc and the other end into the back of the box.

2) Open the software "GT Rom" and click "BIN FILE", select the new file

3) Switch on the box and put in standby.

4) Once you see "12:00" on the box, press Download on the program…this will load the image on to the box and will take approximately 2mins.
Once this is compete it will show you on the PC screen.



Wait till the box has rebooted and you get "ON" on the box, and that means you can switch off and unplug.

That's it your done.

Run the scan as normal,

Follow instructions for scanning if you are unsure.

Press 1570 on remote and turn the EMU back on

This time in the EMU screen choose SET DEFAULT KEY...then turn EMU on and EXIT.
return to main tv screen and wait for the code to update this could go as high as 250% just be patient and do not change the channel
until it has finished otherwise you will have to start all over again

 

Hi bill, you are using NTell cable broadband, then you should be getting the service/channels okay, but your area used to be EX C&W, please try setup using that provider and let us know how you get on tomorrow - am signing off now have to be up and about early.

The forum is still the best around for assistance and guidance, and taking the guidance offered on updates the need for c***s is no longer an issue.
Last night another member and myself spent about 1 hour helping a beginner to get the right flash on a box they had messed up. In the end it all worked out for them, which is great...and the person was very happy with the result!
Where else would you get that.
This forum is where I learned all I know about these boxes and I wouldn't dream of downing the forum like that just becasue of a rule change.
But that is the beauty of a free web...people can go where they like, when they like.

 

Hi me again
I got a Starview 3 box for a mate and uploaded software and was working fine on my connectiion(n east england)
he has took the box back to leeds with him and did automatic search but when he flicks between channels he loses them
also he says he cannot now get all channels on his virgin box

 

If he is in a different provider area he will need to do a factory reset and rescan. Regards losing channels on his VM box tell him to check the RF connections and splitter as I presume this was added to accommodate the SV.

 

will tell him that and let you know how he gets on

 

is his emu switched on as a factory reset switches it off,menu 1570 emu to on and exit out of system.

Hi balkieb Idont have the answer to your problem but you have the answer to mine how did you get into the secret menu to change the emu setting on the super box
