Hi hope some one can help ive been trying to update my starview box software for a few days with not much look. Brought a cable today to connect my lap top to the box via usb. got all the wright software as below but i keep getting this alarm when i go to download the update.
    Cant open serial port
Last error; the systom carnt find the file specified.
im not that hot on computers so i would apreciate any help. the cable im using is a 9 pin serial to usb cable.
ps the instructions im using are below.
The links at the bottom can be used to download

    1) Software
    2) Firmware
    3) WinZIP - If you need it

    Instructions
    1) Plug in the RS232 cable into the serial port on the pc and the
other end into the back of the box.
    2) Open the software "GT Rom" and click "BIN FILE", select the new
file given called "STAR VIEW_H20070126_257eE_api". This will show up
    in the space.
    3) Switch on the box.
    4) Once you see "on" on the box or a channel number, press Download on
the program…this will load the image on to the box and will take
approximately 2mins. Once this is compete it will show you on the PC
    screen.

Wait til you get "ON" on the box, and that means you can switch off and unplug.
    That's it your done.
    Run the scan as normal,
Follow instructions for scanning if you are unsure.
This time in the EMU screen choose SET DEFAULT KEY...then turn EMU on and EXIT

    Proballe causes:
1/ Wrong cables. You need USB-SERIAl & a NULL MODEM CABLE.
2/ No COM PORT installed on the laptop, install it with the CD provided (remove the USB cable first).
