Starview Box - No power NOT a clone

How many slots are on the top of it 18 25 or 13 can you tell me

So you have 1st generation box so put v4.00 on it and then do all this underneath

1 Go to menu first
2.factory settings,password code 1668,press ok for it to delete the channels
3.Then turn your box off and wait a moment then turn back on again
4.pick your language,english then press ok.
5 go to installation,cable network check your provider,automatic scan.
6 once its done scanning,press exit exit twice from here
7.now your in the main menu,,press 1570 on remote pad.
8.now your in the cas menu,press the down tab once,to go to emu and turn it on,exit three times to get back to screen and view channels

hi fergusrb, i tried all that there but it didnt work, i got to as far as doin the automatic scan and it stopped at 35%. the screen then went pink, then black, then green then t went into a standby like mode with another black screen??

haven't a clue where to start??

 

i have to go and collect my sister at the airport now, nut i'll be back on later to see if ya have anymore ideas for us.

im new to this but i heard this is a great site for starview box problems! recently my nephew lost my starview box remote now i need another one or need a replacement!
can any1 tell me what i sould do? all suggestions will be much appreciated!

just get one of those 'all in one ' remotes, they work just as good !

i also had to replace remote for starview saw one on fleabay and bought it, turned out to be a clone but it worked.

you will get spare remotes for starview and eurovox as well

 

ordered starview remote ,sent eurovox did not work,sent another remote for starview this time and worked,different supplier from above.

 

hi this is my first post and i'm also a bit of a beginner with the starview box's. i set my box up with few hitches and am receiving nearly all the channels i should. i have only had my box for four days now but twice it has cut out while i was watching it. the first time the it happened the programme froze for a couple of seconds and then the box cut out and then turned itself straight back on to the channel i was watching. the second time the programme did not freeze but the box did the same thing. the whole thing only takes a matter of seconds so its not a major detriment and i know its not exactly the same problem as the rest of you are having of no power at all but i was hoping somebody could help. thank you.

 

If you have the starview 2 TheBox you need to be using v4.50 for ireland or v4.51 for the uk if you go to menu system specification and look at your API version you should now what is on it and if you need to update ok

Have a similar problem to one posted higher - genuine starview - currently no power - updated to (auto) v4 about a month ago worked perfectly until yesterday when the clock reset itself to 00:00 and refused to allow auto time to pick up right time. (now I didn't turn off the button at the back before this)

Then this afternoon box seemed very hot - so turned it off using the button on back - tried to turn on two hours later and nothing - have tried differnt socket, fuses - no joy.

Been reading about Starview Jtag (of if that is even a possibly of it working on genuine box) - but don't know if the box it self is dead or update through full restart caused problems.

Any help would be appreciated. Or anyone who could Jtag it in Waterford?

If it is a clone and u put v4 on it then u will need a jtag if its dead !
