Just to let you all know i took down the bin files from satdownloads and opened one up in notepad just to have a gander now i had to use a system restore on my laptop as it must have contained a virus this could be the problem with the boxes also opened the top of a box received today by post suppose to be a fake and it has the correct board inside it is the GCR 3510 vB as per the sat site my only wonder is if the bin file has been made to be corrupt so when you use it the boxes are rendered useless anyone got any other idea??????

 

it shouldnt have contained a virus, not one that a pc could be infected with anyway. I opened the file about a week ago but in a hex editor, couldnt find anything. perhaps your pc crashed cos notepad isnt really designed to open big files and files with non standard characters. I am however convinced that the 260 contains bugs though! Its funny how all boxes updated with 260 went down at the same time. If the copied boxes are at fault then its highly unlikely they would have gone down at the same time.

That was all i done closed the computer down came back home about an hour ago turned on the machine and it just went haywire for some reason if you like to check the 257 file from sat and at the top there is something like sober which is a virus as far as i know it seems as there are too many boxes out there and people are modding the flash files to close them down to bring the price back up maybe i am just presuming the worst

 

well i was thinkin it was a cable provider that was modding the files, to kill all the boxes so they wouldnt be losing out but they aint losing a penny!!!! think about it, to get every single channel legally would cost you £170 per month, if these boxes didnt exist would every one whos got a box be paying that much?? i dont think so!! its the same with p2p illegal file sharing - if you didnt download that mp3 would you go out to buy the album - probably not! This is the only way cable providers can put a stop to this unless they invest in the new version of nagravision but their customer's boxes would need replacing cos the hardware wont support it.

 

The 2.60 binfile is genuine with no bugs or viruses. It is for the genuine receivers in which the processor speed in original boxes run at 80 MHz. The cloned boxes run at 65 MHz, quite a difference,
due to the sti5518 processor. This is why they are getting wiped. There is a modified 2.60 bin file out now, on another site, nothing to do with me, which will run on cloned boxes but only if the boot loader has not been wiped out.

 

so with such a difference in speed why didnt the boxes die when the 260 was flash? mine took a week to die! different firmware versions usually just have bugfixes & enhancements - not support for different cpu clock speeds! also, if the 260 will only support a 80mhz cpu how come all the others support both speeds? are you sure you got this right? if so where you getting this info from?

 

This info is what I found on hackable.cc, not saying it's correct, be interesting to see what the 2.60 "modified" file does to boxes.

 

it kills them, ive got a paperweight with scart sockets to prove it!!

 

This file supporting genuine boxes obviously had this speed thing included to knock out the clones I would imagine as the official importers will not support the clones.

 

Well wizard will give you a £50 trade in on the new Star View receiver called "The Box" and will to anyone who has had a clone die. By the way, I am not linked to wizard, just reporting what I find.

they dont die when they are flashed,they only die when
they auto update,..somtimes a day,..somtimes upto 3 weeks.

 

ive always wondered what this auto update thingy is?? what is getting updated & where from?

Do you wonder why Wizzard would take the clone boxes in part exchange for the new ones if he does not want to have anything to do with them maybe he will fix them up and sell them on or maybe they just want to sell the other boxes at a higher price plus if the clone boxes works ok why would anybody want to buy the new ones and they would be left with them that could be why the other file is killing the boxes i wonder if anybody else has a view on this???????

Yes it was just what somebody said about Wizzard buying the cloned boxes back why would someone dead set against the clones in the first place be so egar to buy them you have hit the nail on the head scam wrote all over it at least i am not on my own great minds think alike
