i dont think it kills it
as it was rushed out because v 261e didnt work at all
i am going to flash a clone later with it
    fingers crossed

if it burns out then we will know
unless you know of any burning out or dyeing allready

i have flashed all my genuine boxes and it work brill in the cleveland area
i got hold of a few boxes for friends and relative but some are clones , so i am going to risk the 3.00ee on one to see if it dies..
unless someone out there has an answer for the clones apart from the key rolls as these only last a short time and have to be keyed in manualy quite offten and dont come out the same day / its a pain in the tailpipe

Well fair play for you trying on a cloned i would not risk the box i would prefer to wait for the keys i know it is a pain but better than frying the board anyway let us all know it will be interesting how do you know the difference with the proper box and the cloned is it possible to tell the difference or would i need to open the case any clues would be welcomed thanks

a copy box is half the size of a genuine box
but be carful as the 1st generation box was also half the size ,,
this is where the copy boxes were cloned from

so if you have a box that measures 10.5 inches wide and 7 inches deep its 99% chance to be a genuine box..
this does not mean all small boxes are cloned as you might own a 1st gen starview

this is why i am taking a risk cos mine might not be a clone and could be a first gen box

lads just a quick question.Im in ireland using N** and the codes all worked but Ive lost 15 channels. Setanta 1 and 2 the most important.Ive tried rescanning but doesnt work. When I go to network scan it 2 of the frequencies fail .Any Ideas

Yes have measured these and mine are 10.5 x 6.5 or so what do you think copy or 2 gen

You could try putting these codes in
Change the first set of codes at the
    00: 95 DB 55 38 8D A0 5C 96

Make sure you save after putting in the codes
only these ones the other on 01 are the same then re scan might work

Here is some other information i found as well not mine

    Missing channels suggestion.
I have seen a few posts about channels missing when doing a full scan.
Here's a little trick you can try that may help if you're having problems finding any particular channels or are missing channels:
Try and determine the lowest transponder frequency that you can get a signal on. Look at the frequencies you already have on the channels saved so far and choose the lowest.
Then in the installation menu select MANUAL SCAN and set that as the frequency. Make sure you can see a signal and scroll down to Network scan and change to ENABLE with the Right arrow. While still highlighted, click OK.
Scanning should then begin. It will say 1/1 to start with but should then jump up to 1/?? (the ?? being 2 digits). Using this method my Starview indicated it scanned 56/56 transponder frequencies as opposed to 48 in Auto scan on one main provider. I also gained a few extra channels. The other transponders may have been picked up by scanning other providers.

You could take a chance and do a factory reset and re input the codes i have posted above re scan turn back on emu but i am not saying this will cure the problem are your mates using the same codes as you the numbers i have put up are different from the first set of numbers released check them
    00: 95 DB 55 38 8D A0 5C 96
    01: CB C9 BB A1 1F 39 FF 86

use these and see what happens

they used the original codes released earlier this week but niether have worked on mine.Well they worked except for the 15 lost channels. It seems a bit odd if everyone elses worked perfect.I need setanta for the premiership next season and most importantly for the Eircom lge of ireland

when you start off is the provider N**
    Next provider id
    Next you should see 00
next Data put code in here when you put the code in make sure you press the ok button screen should flicker and say saved

next go back up to the 00 and change to 01
back down to data put in the other set of codes then press ok to save same thing screen flickers and says saved exit 3 times but make sure your emu is switched on

you could try bring your box down to your mates house and do the same as before and a re scan if it works down there it could be a cable problem but if you get the channels up down there they should work in your house then worth a try
