starview box stopped working

did you connect the cable while the pc was on or off and is there any other connections on the back of pc like a printer connected

 

i connected while pc was on but then turned pc off and back on..printer is connected but unplugged..

 

ok turn your pc off unplug both null cable and your printer cable and re start your pc do not plug any cable in yet then turn your pc off again then put null cable in and only this cable and restart pc again

 

do not connect the box to the cable yet until pc is started ok and make sure power to the box is switched off take plug out if needed

hey celtic sorry bout that post earlier ha should of checked to see if ya were a male or female sorry

 

ok so now you should only have the cable connected to the pc is this right and also you are 100% sure you have 13 slits in your box at the top not 18 check again just to be sure to be sure ok

 

yes i have 13x7 vents on top and one end is in the pc and the other end is sittingn on my lap..

 

ok with the box still unpluged plug the cable into it make sure your cable is firmly pushed in all the way on both pc and the box

 

done and done ha i cant send more than one post every 3 minutes so be patient ha ha

 

ok next can you plug the box into the power socket and turn it on then get remote and put it in standby by pressing the button should be a clock on the front now

 

the remote has no effect on the box because wen i turn on the box a big picture saying "the box" shows up and a dash goes across thescreen of the box then stops and stays still...

 

how can you see this is it coming up on your monitor or tv

 

its not on my tv now but it has been for the past few days....and the remote has no effect and either do the buttons on the front panel of the box

 

ok have you tried this with the pc just dont mind what it said on thr tv for a min just try with remote to put in standby ok and see what happens

 

i tried butnoting happened

 

are you using a laptop or a pc also where did you get your cable from and are you sure it is a null modem cable
