No trouble at all you can upgrade to 4.53 but you will need to upgrade to 4.52 first and then to 4.53 so I will stick with the guide for 4.50. After that you can come back. 4.50 is fine for what you require for now. You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F. You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link. You will need version 4.50 firmware found in "The Box" firmware folder. And please download the Starview PDF guide,(similar instructions as to "The Box" guide), this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything.This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.
Well after two days of the codes my box has has reset again and all the channels are down the codes I am using are Telewest 00- 26 86 97 CB FE DB E7 F2 01- 51 6D 0F 08 41 BB D5 D8 I can't update mine with the RS lead because my pc doesn't have the RS end on it only USB and It won't work with a RS X USB lead either it doesn't recognise it Any idea on the new codes?

Scouser, Celtic71, i need your expert help please! have been trying to help a friend with 2 Starview generation 1 boxes,it is really a perplexing problem!have made sure they are genuine,loaded proper software e.t.c. followed all steps closely and made sure default button was saved and crossed all the T`s and dotted all the I`s e.t.c,But Still problems happening.boxes have been running properly for about 6 months,until the last two weeks,then started falling out of sync and scrambling to the point that channels are almost unstable.I.E. they read as channel 104,105, 106, and so on,happens about the same time each evening, and nothing brings them back, boxes are based in south Dublin on "empty hell" any ideas? i am starting to think that their signal is being halved by a neighbour or something like that, have either of you two gurus got any ideas?
knotaclu maybe get them to do the factory setting and start again Menu > Factory Setting PIN 0000 OK to delete Turn box off at the back for a minute and turn back on English > Installation Choose N*L etc Automatic Scan Press OK 176 Channels found Exit Menu 1570 Turn EMU key ON Exit , exit , exit

Have done all that again Celtic71, and still same thing happening, no names on channels just numbers 103 104 etc, my box is working fine (also in south dublin) but i have starview 2 would that make a difference?
Are they using it from the main feed or using a Splitter ? If using a splitter , the signal could be too weak
alright does anyone know wat the story is with the starview boxes in dublin are. the irish channels r comin in but the rest aint. there is a little dollar sign comin up on the channels not comin through

after updating my gfs starview box with the recent fix bin, she told me that some channels have gone or have come up scrambled or bad channel, can anyone tell me what i can do to get unscrambled again? she is in wales ex ntl i think? thanks
Celtic, Can you please help me, ive checked out the clone page links and other than looking in side my box has all the trates of a cloned one. It worked for about 5 monthe without me having to change codes then the other day they changed. i manually changed them and all was okay, however now im just getting an updating message . i have 2.59e firm wear.??????????
Just wondering does anyone know if Galways channels are down I'm only getting about 20 channels on the box.
