If you are talking about HD starview is not capable of this and to be honest not worth getting HD box yet as there are only a few HD channels.

What do you mean by cable or aerial what do you have at the moment. Your question seems to be directed towards TV sets more than DVB decoders. I have an LCD quite happy with it but CRT is just as good, but there are plenty of opinions regards this for and against.

thanks, yes im trying to distinguish if any significant difference in the picture delivered by rooftop ariel through DVB or otherwise and cable. I only get vague answers in the shops as they try and flog Sky to me.My cable picture is great with the Crt set but wife wants" nice looking" tv. If picture no worse from cable feeds to Lcd or Plasma im happy to buy one. thanks for reply---is there any plans for cable box like starview, eurovox planned to handle HD in near future?

Dont think so as said there are not enough HD channels to warrant this and most of these are Sly only anyway.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Have been reading it for some few months and toying with idea of getting a box. Theres some great advice on this forum, well done. I Finally ordered a box today as a Christmas present for my son. Its supposed to come 'ready to go', so can't wait to see. We have N*L cable and have an 8 way splitter in the attic, with Cable in each room in the house, post house extension some years ago. I presume this won't cause any problems with signal. Also remember reading on this forum possibly, that it is advisable to connect the box to a splitter rather than directly to N*L supply coming into house, is this still true, and presumably I wouldnt need any further splitters.

depending on the strength of your signal you should only need to connect your starb*x to the n*l line in his room and tune in the channels.the signal may be weak because of it coning from an 8way but if you can get the cable coming into the house as your true signal and tune in then place the box in his room it should work just fine

Turn box off at the back for a minute and turn back on
