Yea I seen the guide before, its an excellent guide and it's actually the one I used to make the Jtag, however the only cable thats not specified is the VCC wire. It's shown on one of his pictures but it doesent state were it's connected to. Thanks 4 the help.

Sorry, take the VCC from the top end of C40 near the CPU.

    Hi Sc0user

I am also in the process of trying to jtag a dead clone starview for a mate where a gobshite appears to have put the wrong firmware on and charged for the privilige. Heading now to buy some resistors to make cable but I am also unclear regarding the VCC. I Understand it has to be taken from the C40 but where too. The diagram only shows six wires and none of them are from the C40. Your help is much appreciated.

Depends on buffered or non buffered Jtag. Personally I would get one from TMC http://www.tailor-madecircuits.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=31 as it has all you need.

For the attention of Sc0ucer or some of the other geniuses here on afterdawn, firstly forgive me if i've posted this in the wrong section, like many others here i'm a novice, but here's my questioin.
i'm lookin for some advice and i'm hoping you can help, i got stung with a st*rvi*w clone, wasn't aware what to be looking out for, my own fault i guess, anyway, i'm wondering if i use the file CryptStar-v1.4-Core257 will i get my autoroll back or will it kill my box? Your advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
