can anyone help i have bean trying to update a srarveiw origanal box when i click downlowd after about 30 seconds i get a message back saying flash update fail the file im a trying to download to the box is CryptStar-v1.4-Core257 is this right or where am i going wrong

 

this is a good link for updating the box...with info and instructions...as well as a cryptstar bin file you need a gtrom and the right files is dependant on which box you have genuine, clone, or original...read the info on the link and if you're still stuck come back and someone will help you...good luck!

 

If you are sure its a genuine b0x then use this version 9Cryptstar - V1.4 genuine only)

Updating Firmware

Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
(The Starvi*w does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT
that matches the one that is being used

Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC.

Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase
then Download completed message on your PC.

Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before
removing the NULL MODEM CABLE.

The Starvi*w will then reboot

Disconnect from PC and connect back up to the TV

 

I am having a couple of problems with my starview 3 box
Firstly the PPV channel was working up to a couple of weeks ago and showing a movie every day and now it shows scrambled or bad channel

The other problem is that The other PPV channel (PPV Football) has gone off altogether. It was on no 861 but now 861 is not coming up as a number at all.

Can anyone help???

 

the ppv football channel never has anything on it..its always blank...and the the other ppv shows movies periodically...it can go for a few weeks and then nothing for a few weeks...you wont know for sure til there's a pay per view sport event to be 100% sure.

helppp......i have starview box 2 ....i orginally had version 4.0 so i tried to upload 4.5 but now the box wont turn channels on.....it only opens the advert the box at the start...have i fooked it up ??? plz help someone

what I suggest is reload version again with API- File (thebox_Ireland_H20070705_450eE_api.bin) Verify it loaded correctly by checking system information. the file above worked for me last week - friend had problems when codes changed with no auto-roll - this aps files solved he problem..

 

anyone who has starview 1 box - download the CryptStar-v1.4-Core400.bin file onto starview and this solves problems with auto roll when frequencies change. I used file on 6 starviews all worked - no iusses when channel frequency change..

 

Wonder can anyone help me with a problem I've got???

I have a clone box that just keeps giving me green lights moving from left to right constantly. I looked up the solution on one of the forum pages and followed it word for word. i.e. gt rom loader, old file, waited until I hit download button before switching it on from the back of the box etc. I did this quite a few times but to no avail. I flashed my genuine box using the same method just in case it was a bad connection between my pc and the null modem cable ( rs232 ) My genuine box flashed no problem. I'm maybe thinking that there is a fault at the rs232 socket at the back of my clone box. If that's the case, does anyone know the solution to that or is my box wasted??
