    i loaded the driver that came with the usb adaptor, then i went to see which port it was it said 8 so i followed the media video and changed it to 1, so i could select it on the drop down menu on GTRom...so think that should be all working:)

    Same boat same solution have a look at the link above. I am assuming its a Comm Port problem you have?

    no. i have the port set to 2. when i open the loader click on the bin file everything is ok but as soon as i click on download it waits for a few seconds then flash fail comes up. i seem to be doing everything right but no joy

    which box are you trying to update and with whta firmware?

    in relation to your last question its a gen box, with Cyptstar v1.4 core 400, i ran the device driver program and it says its fine i am on port three :)

    sview2 the box and the firmware is the box 450eE. am i making a rookie mistake here guys?

    what firmware have you on at the moment press menu system info,have you followed everything in the starview help under my pic.(courtesy of celt71)

    sorry for the delay guys n*l have the worst broadband service ever. my firmware is api version 400eE. boot version 7.O. im sure im using the right cable null modem female to female

    are you sure you have starview 2(the box)as that firmware is for the original starview.
