it says the box on it and it looks different from my original box. When i got into the system info it also said the box
then it must be a problem with your cable double check again in the starview help folder under my pic.
Ive gone through it a few times cant see anything im doing wrong. Is there only 1 version of the romloader
Got ta hit the bed guys early start tomorrow. thanks very much for your patience and help ill let you know how i get on. thanks again
The v.400 is for the 4.50 & 4.51 firmw@re If you are flashing with 4.54 firmw@re use the v.4.03 These are for "St*rview the b0x" only.
if you have the right cable and have the correct gtrom it should work. if you're version is 4.52 or newer you need gtrom 4.03 otherwise 4.00. what firmware are you trying to use?

Yes its a null modem cable with handshaking. Try another Comm Port as Comm 1 may already be in use. Or even better try it from another pc, preferably a standalone and take the adapter out of the equation entirely.
so got the right cable and connector, got a genuine starview box, using GTrom Loader V4.00 and Cyptstar v1.4 core 400, following pot instructions and download instructions to a t, so where am i going wrong?
ok then it's either a driver or port problem. right click my computer and pick properties. then hardware then device manager. go to ports and see which port it's listed as.
at work at the moment, but when i installed the driver i came up port five, but the gtrom only goes to four so i changed the port number, following the instructions on the media file.
Yes but the instructions I linked you to said select a port between 1 and 4, however port 1 may be already in use on your PC. I would still recommend trying it on another PC though. What OS are you currently running?
then it should be working. @sc0user i'm not having problems with that box super lately for the last 2 weeks (thank god), but why did they put in new tuners and cause all these problems in the first place. edit: vista does have problems with flashing sometimes.
