Does anyone know how the starview box functions i.e. does it need connectivity through a satellite dish? Since I live in an area where satellite dishes are not allowed hence no Sky TV and Virgin TV does not service our area too.
If I get this box, is internet connectivity enough to get it up and running.

no for anybox working on n3 they all have to have internet connected at all times and your providers cable virmin or shy. sv combi needs both a sat dish and virgin line, kv needs virgin line. nothing on the market for just plug an ethernet cable in and your away unfortunately

just stick a sat dish up or in the garden if you have one or a sat dish tri-pod and grab yourself a lan enabled sat box and csline.never heard such rubbish in this day and age that you are not allowed a 48cm sky minidish up.where u live jerassic park? even flats round here have sat dishes up.oh dear if you want to abide by rules maybe gettin extras for free is not for you and you should stick to freeview if you are allowed a tv aerial lol or move to a vermin area now house prices are dropping.planning regs state that if a communications antenna is not permanant but tempory fixture(ie on a tri-pod and it can be taken down when not in use lol)you can have one.

get a portable dish from aldi or lidl or any retailer, you can set it up at yer window, point it at the astra sat (28.2 E) and bingo, the bog standard box that come with those portable dishs pick up FTA chans, so just a matter of sticking a basic dreambox on it, load the necessary (look at piopats or fintannis posts for more on this) and you should be OK
