hi just tried doing the parental control bit still no luck. :-( . so went to info and it's api ver 4.54e, boot ver 7.0. (now to tell you the truth this is all gobbledegook to me). i also checked the vents which are 25x7. hope this is helpfull and hopefully you can help me.

Is it starview 1 or starview 2 The Box, if it is sv1, then check what firmware you have on the box, it would seem that you have V2.58Ee and this will not let you in to secret menu, you will need to flash to a later firmware ie. V4.00eE genuine box V2.57eE FIXED for clone (can't see it being a clone as anything over V260 would have killed it). Go to Main Menu and down to System Info and check.
For future reference the other method of gaining access to secret menu on both SV1 and SV2 The Box is as follows :- Menu - Press Parental Control - Press Info on remote and enter 2004 and Cas Menu will appear. scroll down and turn key emu ON.

Ok first thing you need is a null modem cable do you have one of these if not you will need to either borrow one from someone you know that has one or buy one

Then you will need to download the V4.50 firmware for TheBox

Then you will need the V4.00 gtrom loader as well

Both the firmware and the loader are available on the eko link at the bottom of the post

Let me know do you understand all this thanks

    Hi Folks,

    I have a Starview box.

However, I have been away since September and now that I've come back, there are no channels coming through.

So I was wondering, what's the latest Firmware/Software and/or codes I need to get it up to speed.

Not too well informed on the whole thing so any help would be much appreciated.

    Happy New Year,

    K.

When you are putting the file on your box you do not touch the back of the box only put the box in standby by pressing the red button on the remote when you see 12:00 on the front then press download to download to your box and wait till it has finished even after you see 100% as it is still not finished you will get another pop up telling you it has finished then you turn the box off at the back and then back on again then do you channel scan
