Not sure how many channels you should get but you won't get as many as N*L so the 40 odd that you picked up may be about right or you could get a few more but not much.

Try do manual scans on these frequencies

    379.000
    387.000
    395.000
    427.000

Yes if the cable is damaged or poor quality it will cause this to lose frequencies

I think BBC channels run on freq 411.000 , Have a look though your list and see what frequencies are not working

    Hi Celtic

Right, this is what I am getting on the frequencies from manual and automatic scan

    274 - failed
    282 - failed
    290 - failed
    298 - failed
    306 - failed
    314 - failed
    322 - RTE 1, RTE 2, TV3, TG4, Eurosport
371 - Sky News, Discovery Channel, Discovery Real Time, Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, Sky Comedy, Sky One
    378 - failed
387 - PPV Channel, Playboy, UK Style, More 4, Bravo, History, Biography, E4
394 - Sky Family, Sky Drama, MGM, Sky Sports Xtra, TCM, Living TV, VH1
410 - UK Docs, The Box, Bloomberg, Film 4, Sky Modern
    427 - failed
444 - Sky 2, E!, EWTN, MTV Hits, Nick Junior, Setanta 2, Setanta News

It does seem weird that channels like BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky Premiere, setanta 1 etc. are mising

Ok sems like a few freq are not scanning , at least your getting somewhere now , try this method

    Menu > Factory Setting
    PIN 0000
    OK to delete

Turn box off at the back for a minute and turn back on
    English > Installation
    Choose Provider etc
    Automatic Scan
    Press OK
    Channels found
    Exit

    Press Menu then 1570
    Turn EMU key ON

    Exit , exit , exit

    Hi Celtic

Tried that but still the same thing. Seems the lower frequencies just won't scan.

I can try it in a friends house where there is digital working already next week if there is nothing else I can try right now ?

Thanks a million for your help on this

    Hello all,
I hope someone can help me. Im also located in a chorus area in South Dublin. Im not mmds and i have tried all the frquencies as above with the emu on. its a new starview box. I tested it in a friends place(ntl area)to see if the box was genuine. It loaded all the channels immeidately so there is nothing wrong with the box. All i am getting when i run an automatc scan is "nothing found" repeatdly. I have also trie manual scans without any success. I also imputted the Chorus key codes through the 1571 menu. My automatcic scan pick ups the chorus frequencies it self but finds nothing. Could it be a poor area I live in for this or is there something simple im missing. p.s my cable is plugged into the wall lol

As far as i know its chorus- thats who the bill is paid to anyway! Im not long in the place so im not that sure on the whole TV background of the area..I did try to scan it on NTL before but not since i had it working in a friends house on a NTL connection. Im not too sure if that makes a difference but i'll give it a go later.

    cheers
