starview clone fix

If your pc or laptop does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

i have been trying to down load the new CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin software,but when i connect my pc and box up and try to download nothing happens the test connection always fails, i am using the rs232 lead which has 2 9 pin females on both ends, but is unable to detect

Can u please help, the lead is brand new

funmonkey its just not picking up the com port, go to computer, right click, select manage, go to device manager, click the + on com lpt, you should then see your lead connected, right click on your lead, properties, advanced, then assign it to com 1 or 2 whichever is free.

help plz...

i have loaded the new firmware (sunrise) for clones on my s/v 1 clone box but some of the channels are frezzing and breaking up (starplus, shopping channels) but other channels r fine(sky). network provider is telepest in liverpool.

If you want to try a factory setting it usually helps

Menu > Factory Setting
PIN 0000
OK to delete

Turn box off at the back for a minute and turn back on

English > Installation
Choose Provider etc
Automatic Scan
Press OK
Channels found
Exit

Press Menu then 1570
Turn EMU key ON

Exit , exit , exit

 

tried tht sv clone fix very strange thing happned when i cnnected to cable it was on instantly i turned on the box 3 and realised codes had changed so just to see it roll i manually changed codes in nagravision went into tvit was there looked in nagravision again the codes iinput were were still there

 

lads some1 gave me there starvie* to update its a clone but when i plugged it in not even a light will come on.Does any1 no wat might b wrong r does this happen to the clones that they just stop workin

 

Its ok i left it pluged in for a few mins and it came on sorry

 

main thing is it working ok mine seems to roll with the cable company i did mine last night didnt plug it in till this morning and was on when i plugged it in this morning

 

Did you turn it on with the switch at the back ?

The only other way it wont come on if it was updated with the wrong firmw@re

hello afterdawn i have done two clone starview boxes with cryptstar core 257 and both have died no power at all please if someone can tell me whats happening and any way of bringing them back

 

are you sure it's definitely 2.57 and did you let the download complete pop up come up?

 

yes did every thing right they were working grand for a few weeks and then just died .just taught id let yous guys know incase it happens to yous .is there any way of retriving them.thanks

 

when you went to menu and info on it was it 2.57. people have said it's 2.57 but it's actually 4.00. i think someone from nthell was pretending so they could kill some boxes. you were tricked. you'll need a jtag kit to revive them.

where did you download them?

 

it was the crypt star one every one is saying is fine.I downloaded it to a removable disc.I am in dublin city centre is there a shop i an buy the jtag kit from and how does it work. Thanks
