I know what it like If it still wont flash check the C11 capacitor on the PSU board http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/531363#3216144
capacitor? psu board? do you mean actually open the box up ? that looks very technical !! do i also read that this fix is fro when you have 0 on the led display on the front of the box ? this is not the case with my friends box
I said keep trying the bad flash method and look at this as a last resort. Its not that technical really and does mean you open up the box, 0 is not the only digit that shows up with a bad cap But as said its only if the bad flash method doesnt work. You can look at the cap and see if it is bulging or blown and then that will tell you.
thanks scouser you have been a great help. i will keep trying the bad flash method again and again and again and again lol
hi all, still trying but not sure if its gonna work. been very patient so far but i think im gonna feck this thing out. unless anyone has any more ideas? cheers scouser but i am beginning to doubt your wisom in this case (only in this case mind) lol
Maybe I'm reading this problem wrong ? lol (when i switch it on each time :- i get the 4 bars across the fron 1 after the other then -70- then on then the channel number ) You say when you plug in the b0x you have a channel number on the display ? When you plug it into the TV what happens and what is displayed on the TV screen ?
scouser, i am too scared to open the thing. i know nothing about electronics, even if i did open it i wouldnt know what i was looking for regarding a blown or none blown capacitor. i know where to look of course thanks to your earlier assistance. also this isn't my box. i think i am going to return it to the owner and tell them to buy a proper one. then if they say they dont want it i might open it safe in the knowledge that if i do any wrong its down to me only and i can throw the thing away if needs be. thanks though i knew you guys would do everything you could to help mark ..
