Starview Clone Freezing

I've got a Starview clone and for the past two weeks it has been freezing/pixelating every 10secs or so.

The firmware is 2.57e (which I've been informed is the latest version for the clone.

I decided to patch the box again with 2.57e Fixed. The download went okay but, when I plug it in and turn it on, it turns on for about 5secs then freezes and turns itself off and the box randomly displays a number or some weird character.

I've tried to reflash the box again but now I keep getting the message 'Flash Update Fail...' the com port is correct because I've used it to update the box already and I've also updated my Technomate receiver using it.

I'm at my wits end with this box. Ever since I've had it, I've had issues with it :-(

My brother has a D-Box but he has never had any issues with his box, I'm seriously tempted by that

 

Does 0 appear in the panel?

'0' doesn't appear but '6' '7' '8' do randomly appear and also something that resembles an upside down 'A'

 

Same solution can be utilised.
