    Yup! the same

    If the box is dead, what could of killed it? You see there was nothing wrong with it except the codes had changed. I wasn't as clued up as I am now (thanks to you and this forum).

    I will answer that question in a minute. Can you get any info from the box, by pressing menu and system info. Or you cannot get into the menu screen at all.

    I can't get into it at all. Thats why I am wondering what firmware is about? Any info/help/advice/comment is totally welcome. I am totally aware how easy it is to miss the simplest of things. I don't even know how the r232/r323 cable works in respect to how it exchanges information with the box. Is there any way of downloading info from the box to my PC like P2K on my partners Motorola phone?

    Thank you all for your time and your input.

    The fight isn't over yet, and

    Hardware = The Starview
    Software = The loader, (Gtromloader Version 4)
    Firmware = The bin flash file, basically a hex coded update for the Starview.

    As a final solution try the bad flash method here:

    Have you taken the Starview to another house with the same provider and tried it there?

    Let me start by saying I know quite a bit about Starviews. I also offer my advice/knowledge freely. Most of the time I get peoples boxes back up and running, for which I am thanked for.

    What you are doing is asking questions within questions. If you do not accept my logical approach to your problem, I will then cease to offer my advice as you seem to find it faulted. I am sure you will find it hard to get any other member/senior member to assist you if you persist in questioning peoples advice and multiposting.

    In response to your query, "How would this help", I am using a logical process of deduction as we close down one avenue, I try to open up another one to help you out.

    I found the answers to my questions elsewhere. I think my problem was beyond your knowledge level. Well thanks for trying. Everything's working now. Bye
