Hi co19, had a very bad day yesterday not only was the box not working then broadband went down in my area so could not answer you back. i have api ver: 2.60_e bootver:7.0 alexa
No problem Alexa,ok you will need to update the firmware on your box as the version you have on it is too old. First you will need to find out do you have a clone box or a genuine Count the vents on top of your box to confirm 18 slots x7 rows = clone 25 " x7 " = genuine Also if you're still unsure click on the clone/genuine comparisson link at the end of my post. To update your box you will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F. Null modem info http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6 If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable USB adaptor info http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=29968&DOY=17m6&tabs=n These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay. All firmware/loader can be found here http://eko.4shared.com/ You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link. Now select the firmware either ver 4.00 for a genuine Star***w 1 box or ver 4.50 for 'The Box' or if you have a clone box select version 257 FIXED all of which can be found in the 'firmware' folder. Updating Firmware Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY. (The Starview does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM) Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT that matches the one that is being used Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC. Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase then Download completed message on your PC. Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starvi*w will then reboot Turn off and turn back on , then plug your tv cable and scart back in * You should download the Starview PDF guide this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything. This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.
So i have a sick box so thanks for that will do all that and get back to ya and let ya no . thanks again alexa
