Really not sure if it can be fixed, but if anyone repairs them i would be interested in how much they would charge me
From the fix link "P.S. This will also recover 'bricked' SVHD's (if there are any lights still on)" you say you have a red light on the box so you should be able to fix it (i take it you mean a wee red dot), i know that on mine when im applying the fix i have a red light on too but the fix still updates. Oh and also when i did mine i had probs getting the update to work, i had to make sure the RS232 was in both PC and the box perfectly straight so just make sure yours are too
Yes it has a small red dot on the front of the box, ive tried that update until i'm blue in the face it will not upload, ive tried every different cable under the sun and 2 different laptops, it still will not move from 0% it just sits there laughing at me. I will perservere and let you know if i get it to work, Thanks.
it can be down to timing when doing what []v[] said with turning the box on and running the fix with rs232 cable
latest firmware for the sv combo LINK though if nothing wrong with your box, i`d leave alone as we all know how easy they are to brick
Can you believe it! I borrowed an XP laptop because mine are all Windows Vista and it uploaded first time , box now recovered and just got to figure out which firmware to put on and to get the homestream working.
Well would just like to say thanks allot to everyone who helped me out on this thread. My box is now fully operational and working like a dream, latest firmware loaded as given on the latter message and ustream connected, it's a bit jumpy on a few channels, but totally watchable. Thanks allot guys ;-)
