Ok you have sent them the wrong box as that box will only work with an ariel on the roof for MMDS only

that is why they are getting the different menu you will need to swap for a stsrview 2TheBox

What you got was the starview 2 TheBoxT

you will not get that to work on any cable network only ariel on roof

This may be the totally wrong thread I have posted on so applogize in advance.

I currently have cable broadband only in my flat. Will I be able to connect the starview box direct to this cable and view or is the tv signal not activated on the line. Will it just be the broadband signal only?
I have heard that as broadband comes from the tv tap in the cab it will send the tv signal automatically along the line?, is this true?
or will the broadband line be totally dead for digital tv signal?

    hope that makes sense?

Yes you are correct it will work on your broadband connection as long as it is coaxial and not ADSL.

its just the coax cable that comes into the flat, they did not install a phone. i only wanted broadband.
i just dont want to get a box and then find out no tv signal is coming into the flat as no way to check.
someone said that if broadband is active then so is tv as uses same line. all you need to do is get a box and connect it and it will work???

A friend of mine just a Starview Box and it won't pick up any channels. He can see the box menu on the Tv and when he goes to install (NTL) it shows TP 1-24 but fails on every one. The fact he is seeing the menu looks like the box is connected to TV ok, and he has the coax NTL cable in the cable input in the back of the box. This same cable in the TV will give basic NTL on TV. All appears to be set up properly yet it finds no channels. He has tried factory reset but no joy.
    Any help???

If he only bought it he may need to flash it. What firmware is on it?
