STARVIEW Dublin problem (after codes)

1. Plug starview in at the mains;and turn it on.

2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with
PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for
this on the starview you cant go wrong);

3. Open up GTRom loader this will be the soft ware on the cd

4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the
Auto update BIN File file that you have


5. Now click download button and you sill se the
file being downloaded.

6. Once complete a mssage will apppears saying
something like "download successful".(you must wait till youir pc says this it about 20 seconds atfer it says 100%))


7, plug box in and press Menu on
remote, installation, choose your cable provider,
then move don to automatic scan and press ok.

8. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.

9. Now press menu, parental control, press ok.

10 Now press the info button then the numbers 2 0 0 4. Move down to Key Emu and change option
to on.
Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.

11. Go to scrambled channel and wait for it to unscramble the channels

12 then watch tv.

 

I just noticed a difference in the new codes for NTL Dublin:

I re-entered the codes from Des61 into my fathers box and everything worked!

Came home and entered the new codes into my own box - turned EMU on, and did a channel search... 161 0dd channels found! PAYDIRT!

ONLY...

All channels are showing as scrambled...?!?!?!

I've restarted the box - compared all menu specs between my fathers and mine - they seem identical.

I'm lost and to be honest a fair bit peeved!

 

Where do I buy the null modem cable - none came with box...

Also - No CD bundled also... Can I download the sotware online?

Should it have been bundled with the box?!

I bought this poxy thing over a month agao and it's gathering dust! Never figured it'd be this much grief...

sticker01 Where did you get the box,? Just wondering cause im sure it has version 257 on it and that should work , its the one im still using !

 

I'm in work atm... will check when I get home.

Perhaps it's just a setting I have wrong! There's quite a few settings involved and the missus was fluting around with it the day we got it!

Although referencing my fathers settings, they seem identical!

I'm fairly technically minded, this is just baffling me...

Espicially when one time I can find 130+ stations and they stay scrambled and the next only 20+ stations found...

the first code 00 stays the same the 01 codes changes to
