STARVIEW Dublin problem (after codes)

is the digivox 2007 the same as starview??

 

Its very similar I think, I was told its made by the same people. I have just ordered one to check it out ! They say it has a faster epg

 

i bought one but there was no firmware installed,can i use the one for starview?or does that even make sense!!!

 

Is anybodys MTV scrambled?

I get get into the secret menu. I pressed Menu and then typed 1570 but the password isn't accepted. Can anyone help?

 

firmware ver 258 does not let you into secret menu downgrade to 257

 

I'm new to this. How do I downgrade?

 

You must first dowload the version 257e onto your pc. Then put it onto your box. You can get all the info at http://www.drewish1.co.uk/
Then follow the guide next to my name at top of page 2 of this thread

 

Lads, does anybody know if the starview will work (pick up all channels) in the Meath area close to Kinnegad / Clonard / Enfield on Chorus newtork as opposed to NTL?

If so is there anything special ya need to do to the box or will the normal firmware work.

Cork are :

Dublin ones might do u !
You shouldnt have to do anything with your firmware....

I know how you feel. i bought 2 boxes. One was the standard starview box and the other was the 'starview 2' also known as the box.Took me a bit ofenquiring and searching to get them going. I didnt get a null modem cable (basically a port cable with two female ends)with the early model but luckly I did with the starview 2. You dont get software cds with either starview boxes now as far as I know. At the start it looks like there are loads of different 'files etc' to download, but there isnt really. I hooked my starview up with the pc (fool proof) and downloaded the software i needed from my supplier. After you download the software to the box disconnect from the pc and hook it up to the tv. Go into the secret menu (explained above) and you can turn the emu button back. Its headwrecking at the start but you get use to it. I have both boxes working fine, although two problems have surfaced. 1. Loss of sound on channel 4,e4,e4+1 and also sky one. 2. Bad channel or scrambled channel comes up every 25 min or so. Anyone with a solution to these problems please let me know. I am still fairly new to this. Thanks again to those who have helped me out in the past. ufc43. west dublin.

 

ufc43 you will have to manual scan the programs in .
Goto installation, manual scan, down frequency.
your channels will scan in now. but you will have 2 of c*4, *4 etc.
Just delete the one with no sound and u'll be sorted !.
Also it sounds like you have version 3.00e on your box. that is probably causing your 2nd problem ( ie :'Bad channel or scrambled channel comes up every 25 min or so') either switch to v4.00e or go back to v257e. hope that helps u a little....

 

some of my channels has no sund, only cahnnell 4 and fim four as far as i know, also the rest is delayed so it looks like everyone is lip sinking, anyone got a solution????

With v4.0 download everything is working exept for adult chanel which has no sound, this ch. only, I wonder why any ideas.

 

Thanks for all your help so far. Just one quick question, I have re-scanned all the channels, but each time I try to delete the duplicate channel, it prompts me for a password and I haven't a clue what it was, is there a universal one I can use ?
