from what i heard its best to update to ver 3??? any one wanna give me semi idiot lessons how to do it? have downloaded the bin file but not sure what to do next any suggestions???

I need to know how to spot a clone starview box from a genuine starview box. i have 2 boxes, one of the boxes is 10.5 inches across and 7 inches deep with the scart sockets on the back left side. the second box is 10.5 inches across and almost 6 inches deep and has the scart sockets on the back right side, are these both genuine or is one a clone?????

 

does anyone know if you can manually change the date on the box for the purposes of the epg i mean? switched mine on this morning after flashing 3.00e and even though the time is right the date is a full day behind meaning i have to scroll thru 24 hours of programmes to get it right.

Starview box back on line with new software 3.00 loaded , seems now that teh times on EPG screens are correct , no messing around when paging througf menus starting from 00.00

Try going to setting and updating time >

 

the time is correct as are the epg times that come up but the date is 24 hours behind so im getting programmes for this time yesterday!

To anyone who may have missed it in the excitement over the new keys, there are now two extra movie channels available.

A manual scan should bring up something like:

SM HD1_Hid
SM HD2_Hid

These channels are broadcasting the same films that are on the $ky Movies HD channels, but are broadcast in Standard Definition.

Also a big thank you to everyone who posted keys - worked a treat both last week and this week.

You seem to be the experts here and this is going to sound a daft question - our starview box went down at the weekend and the first codes didn't work. We're about to try the updated codes.

My neighbour across the street said you had to input ALL the codes for all providers before it will work. We're with N** - should we just be inputting these numbers, cause it's taking ages to go through the entire lot.

you dont need to do all codes, just the ones for your network

If i do a manual scan will i lose the order of all my channels? just finally got them saved as i like them.

 

new to all this but thanks for the codes worked a treat again. in n** land dublin. Have S***v*** API version 2.55e_E B.version 7.0 22nd July 2006. Can anyone tell me what should i do, should i update and how etc. thanks

 

Updating to 3.00eE because of its auto updating feature seems like a good idea at the minute if all the rumours are to be beleived that n*l will be changing codes upto 2 times a day.

alot of people have seemed to update to 300 and had no problems on so called clone boxes or genuine boxes but that is not to say it is a 100% guarantee

my advice would be to leave your sv as it is for now if it is working ok because there is no need to change it.

if you do want to update, pm me ur email and ill send you a guide on how to do it and where to get the files

This is beginning to do my head in. Everyone on this site has been fantastic, and thank feck for you all, especially TEZZER and fergus. I would hate to be trying to deal with this on my own!

Has anyone reflashed a suspected 'clone' with 3.00 and has had it working for longer than 3 weeks.

I ordered another one for a friend and it just arrived today - the people I bought it off www.starviewbox.co.uk have now decided to remove their phone number from their site - sounds very dodgy doesnt it. And now they're selling "The Box" and have a note saying that "Starview boxes" are not in production anymore and the only ones left on the market are 'clones'! W**kers!

Anyone any suggestions on whether to reflash with 3.00 or not. I dont mind (as long as its not every day) reflashing but I know the people that I've recommended it to will all need my help to enter keys and it would be way easier just to flash with 3.00.

Any help again lads would be much appreciated!

 

the 3.00 hasnt even been out for 3 weeks, just over a week i think. tezzer has updated a suspected clone, hes not 100% whether it is or not but he updated a bout a week ago and as far as i know its still working, we should get an update later
