A manual scan will not affect your existing channel order.

Got to installation, select manual scan. At the bottom it should say network scan - change this to enable and start the scan.

To be fair, they got back to me quite quickly so i cant complain.

Here was their response (Please see my last post to see what this is in relation to)

    [qoute]Hi,

Yes we understand what you mean. However our stock is old stock. The starview looked like the clone in the photo 6 months ago. Due to all the copied boxes starview changed the casings.

Please go ahead and install the killer clone software and you will see the box works.

All software can be obtained from www.starviewbox.co.uk/downloads.html.

In any case you have a 6 month warranty so if it doesnt work you can get it exchanged.

    Kind regards[/quote]

It seems fairly ok doesnt it! Here's hoping!

I bought a fair few from him and they are not clones ( well the ones I got anyway)His stuff is genuine but saying that starview 'the box' is the only 'non-clone' one available is nonsense !

    Hi all

Yes some of the boxes are clones but to my knowledge nobody has a bog which is which so the only way to find out is when you flash the 3.00 file in a week or maybe 3 weeks it takes that long your box is dead so you have to make your own mind up on that score where is the problem if your box is working at the moment you can still enter the codes manually how long does it take 3 to 4 min how long will you have to wait if you bust your box a week then have the same problem is it a clone or real also the person selling the so called" the Box" do not buy these you are being ripoff by the person who brought out the 260 file that killed the other boxes you have been warned

all new software is designed to kill off the clones so people are forced to buy "the box" which is same as starview but more expensive

Because the smaller box has a processor that runs at 65Mhz compared to the other ones that have a 85Mhz it takes a while for the processor to burn out because it cant cope with the extra power it is getting work it out 65 against 85 which is bigger

All we can do is advise you install if you want it is your decision at the end of the day or wait and continue to enter the code manualy it does not take long and the codes will be available when they change just takes an hour or so to get them up on the site

I'm sorry to burst your bubble put people will never learn there was smaller boxes made that where not clones generation 2 box they are the smaller so you still dont know whether or not it is cloned as it was the second generation box that was cloned the big one is the first box that was out then they made them smaller any wiser now because i am not

Prob worth a try i do not have any here as just family members have them so i like the gilley i am end up looking after them starview do not work on chours unfortunately do you have both i dont think there is any difference inside as the clone is a complete replica of the original maybe processor might be bigger try wont do any harm dont think
