GOGSY 1 GET A NULL SERIAL MODEM ( 9 PIN FEMALE EACH END)FROM MAPLINS

AND DO THE FOLLOWING
I WILL GLADLY SEND ALL THE FILES AND PROGRAMS TO DO IT
IT TAKES 4 MINUTES TO DO

1. Plug starview in at the mains;and put on stand by

2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with
PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for
this on the starview you cant go wrong);

3. Open up GTRom loader thiS IS A PROGRAM I WILL EMAIL YOU
4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the
Auto update BIN File file that you have


5. Now click download button and you sill se the
file being downloaded.

6. Once complete a mssage will apppears saying
something like "download successful".(you must wait till youir pc says this it about 20 seconds atfer it says 100%))


7, plug box in and press Menu on
remote, installation, choose your cable provider,
then move don to automatic scan and press ok.

8. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.

9. Now press menu, parental control, press ok.

10 Now press the info button then the numbers 2 0 0 4. Move down to Key Emu and change option
to on.
Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.

11. Go to scrambled channel and wait for it to unscramble the channels

12 then watch tv.

 

can someone post a step by step guide (for dummies) on how to flash the box.

I have an idea but would like a jargon free version

just one ques, do u need to have the box connected to your tv at the same time as i heard you cant use a laptop to flash the software.

also as v3 keeps freezing have u got the v2.57 bin file if so can u upload it as im on v2.58 at mo which is fine but i heard 2.57 is more reliable.

You don't have to do a rescan after the firmware update. It normally keeps the same channel list and leaves the emu on.

When i did a couple of other boxes with version 3.00 it did anyway.
