Did the Null modem cable come with the SV?
If you got it from Maplins did it say Null Modem on the front.
A lot of people have gone to Maplins and got the wrong cable which fits and looks the same but will never flash your box.
If you are unsure go to Maplins and ask for order code L71BT. Make sure it says serial lead Null Modem L71BT on the package.
Turn the PC on first make sure baud rate is set to 115200 in device manager. Once the bin file is loaded to the GTROM turn the SV on at the back. As the lights start to go accross the front click on download on the loader. Once it says download complete and the display on the SV says on all will working fine.

because people are just rushing around you need to take your time and follow the instructions to the letter one number or letter out and it wont work so make sure you put the right number and letter in the right place

if you are unsure about 3.00 go with your instincts and flash back to 257 or other one

I'm gonna stick with 300eE, I bought some for my family and its a pain updating their boxes daily now. Just impatient about a fix but all good things to those who wait and all that....

I can see how it starts to get people down whenever the box goes down. People are normally on here asking good questions and getting good answer. However when this happens so many people come on who cannot be botered to even look on the previous page.

    Hi there,

This is my first post so be kind!!!!

I am having to manual input everyday and was going to flash the box. I have on screen in info

    API VER 2.59e_E
    Boot Ver 7.0
    29 Jan 2007

But i was told if i put the flash onto my box it may knacker it up because my box is a version 2 or something.

Could someone please confirm if there is any truth in this or if I put the new update flash onto my box it will work fine.

    I am in t***W*** area

    Thanks in advance

    PUPS.
