I second that, thanks to Fergus for his help. We would all be up to our necks in the brown stuff if it wasn't for members like you.

 

Lads, who actually modifies the firmware? Is it the starview makers of some hacker genius on this forum?

ok everything you need to know and read to set you up is from page 98 all the way to this page just read back and you will see

they are supposed to be done by the maker but sometimes people get them and change them like the 260/261 file modified to kill the box then released out for everyone to get

So that is true then, there is firmware that will destroy boxes... well thats a downer. Once we use the links on this forum we should be ok then.
The amount of people I know who have the starview is amazing and they are all getting freaked out with these code changes. A few mates have the dbox are for an extra 50 quid it may have been worth spending.
Still its an ugly bugger, I'm sure well have everything sorted shortly with the starview.

 

Fergus, is there one site that you get your updates from, as I am going to flash my box tomorrow and don't want to kill it.

Yes certain people did get the other files and modified them to kill the boxes and ye hopefully it will be sorted

 

First and foremost a massive thanks to all the regular problem solvers on here, you know who you are! Stars every one of you!

Secondly any new posters before blurting out all your problems read back throught the threads and 99% of the time the answers are there. The board is getting way too clogged up unecessarily

i belive in the interest of this site , is if we can get somebody who has a web site or somewhere , so he can upload the firmware & key codes to that site & we have a sticky posted here, for everybody to go there , it maybe safe for all,

if we keep posting the CODE KEYS here , this site will be SHUT DOWN


i now somebody post the firmware link here, sorry i cannot remembers the guys name , if the can link the codes too his site also it will be good for all

posting keys is aganist the cable companys terms & conditions

thats why i stopped posting the keys here a few days ago, after i posted them here

 

well if its against their t&c's why arent ebay banning their users from SELLING the codes!! i reckon its not illegal to post them

I was gonna ask some ore questions just before I shoot off, but I think I'm getting too much into it now, I just wanted to get the codes but I'm being sucked into this starview thing. Its good fun, long may it last.

hi can anyone tell me if this is the last update for starview box 1 as it says all over ebay buy starview 2 as starview box 1 wont be upgraded anymore or is it a con for more money or will starview box 1 be going down again ,and please help does anyone have a hinkling how long this latest update will last thank you concerned as we all are ............

are you using a starview as this is for the starview set top box i dont know about a pace machine please give some more info
