Thats a valid point i was wondering that myself. It'd be bang out of order but It wouldn't surprise me. Does anyone know for definite if starview will honour its obligation to update sv 1 firmware. It has been stated that sv 2 f/w doesn't work on sz 1. So if they dont stand by it we're all screwed.

Don't buy a box from anyone claiming that. They are obviously quite prepared to lie to get your money. So don't trust them.

The makers will continue to support SV1 for the pure and simple reason that people will not buy SV2 if they think support for the box will stop as soon as the next version comes out. That would be like MS not supporting XP when most people are still using it.

Hi am am new to this and i wondered if anyone can help? i have recently got a starview and used your instructions (thanx!) to flash and reflash with the latest firmware and its all working well except that the epg is only working on basic channels. i have checked that the time is set correctly and i have read and searched this forum but i dont seem to be able to find the answer.

Does any one have any suggestions?

They have a box they were selling before the SV and they still support that box. It makes good commercial sense

    No anto

I flashed v3.00 then reflashed back to 257 cant take the chance i am not going to replace the boxes out of my pocket just in case it could take 3 weeks to die so that is why i did not do it
