Hi Fergs, just an update from myself, ive flashed my box with the 300Ee and i have not suffered from any type of freezing or constant updating, so for me its a winner.

Listen there is an easy solution if you flash with v3.00 get your channels back up and then re flash with 257 or whatever you are using this wont fry your box it is only if you leave it on it the only prob is when code is changed you will again have to input manually what is the big problem with entering a few numbers against loosing your box weigh it up for yourself

Ferg I have 3.00ee on tree boxes in my house and my bro's no problems! No overheating all seems well in the land of now!

Oh i have a quick question about 3.00ee does it actually automatically update when the codes change or do you have to
    Press Menu
    1 5 7 0
    and set default code?

    Thanks

Yes, its the one under the heatsink in the picture, shall i do a pimp my starview box where i install a low profile heatsink and cooling fan with flashin neon led's or maybe even a water cooling system :p

btw, im getting bored with the chocy biscuits and beefy crisps here, this screwdriver and the non working starview box is looking like a punishment in a mo ;)

Thanks and yes thats the chip under the heatsink in the photo frim earlier
