just to confuse matters more about clone and genuine boxes i have what appears to be a clone box goin by the last pics posted but a genuine remote, and the pictures posted earlier that show clone/genuine are wrong, goin on what the link on satkings site links to the chinese clone makers, maybe they have a genuine picture but sell fake boxes

 

There are 2 generations of starviews, the clones are based on the older boxes, I think people are saying if the remote is genuine, the box ix genuine

Ok, well there you have it, the clone box stoped working after installing firmware version 2.60 onto it, i am yet to do a jtag on that system.

The original box i this morning loaded firmware version 3.00e_E from this forum onto there and it now works like a dream, EPG works fine, updating codes works fine, clock update works fine, i was there for 5 hours and i was playing with it constantley and it was, yes Fine! no crashing, no mixed pictures with audio so there u go, make your own decisions

Its worked for me fine on the original box, but do use caution, remember if you wreck your box, its your fault not mine!

dont rely too much on them pics, if you've got the big box its deffeo genuine, if its the smaller box its either a clone or a 1st gen. the big box is the 2nd gen. the clone is a copy of the 1st gen

 

will someone tell me if there are new codes for telewest AND c&w?

and if i put todays ntl codes, will it work with yesterdays telewest and c&w at this moment?

 

have you got 00, or is it the same?
