hi, ive got a starview box and the sports channels and movies have gone off ,ive got a cd and cable that came with the box, to update the box do i need to have the pc and the cable plugged in at the same time?

Details of how to go about it originally posted by Tezzer007...

1. Plug starview in at the mains;and put on stand by

2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with
PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for
this on the starview you cant go wrong);

3. Open up GTRom loader this will be the soft ware on the cd

4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the
Auto update BIN File file that you have
(which I assume you have downloaded from here).

5. Now click download button and you sill se the
file being downloaded.

6. Once complete a mssage will apppears saying
something like "download successful".(you must wait till youir pc says this it about 20 seconds atfer it says 100%))


7, plug box in and press Menu on
remote, installation, choose your cable provider,
then move don to automatic scan and press ok.

8. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.

9. Now press menu, parental control, press ok.

10 Now press the info button then the numbers 2 0 0 4. Move down to Key Emu and change option
to on.
Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.

11. Go to scrambled channel and wait for it to unscramble the channels

12 then watch tv.

13. Details how to sort favourites etc is in the manual.
Get a Bin c=image for your area though and this will
save you a bit of work

 

Hi total noob here,not sure if this question has been answered but here goes, I have 3 n*l boxes in my house,1 in sitting room 2 in bedrooms. I have replaced 2 of them with starview boxes and can receive all channels perfectly.My question is will n*l detect them and come a knocking on my door? I still havent given back my other boxes just in case.Thanks

just got a starview box and installed it but it wont let me into the hidden menu to change the emu what should i do al help greatly appreciated

 

you need to press the info button on your remote then type in 2004.

 

i did and it wont let me in to the hidden menu ,i have another box and that works fine

you could do the menu followed by 1570 its a short cut to the hidden menu

I want to buy a starview box this week. I went to the starview site but not sure if that's the official site (http://www.starviewbox.co.uk). Also, can you let me know how and where I get the software update and what cable i need ( i presume it's usb to serial?)

I have just purchased 2 starview stb`s from wizard and they have come pre flashed with 258 api. I have tried to access the secret menu using the two codes (info 2004 & menu 1570) neither work. I have also tried to reflash them with 257api but they wont seem to reflash. Any help would be much apreciated.
